ASSEMBLEYWOMAN DAUCHER FEATURED ON CAPITOL FOCUS

SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today that this month’s guest on his monthly television show, Capitol Focus, is Orange County Republican Assemblywoman Lynne Daucher.  Simitian and Daucher work together in the Budget Subcommittee on Education Finance which oversees the state’s 52 billion dollar education budget.  In addition to speaking with Daucher about education issues, Simitian discusses the highlights of his current bill package and announces the winners of his “There Oughta Be a Law” contest.

“It’s important for Californians to know that Democrats and Republicans do work together on many issues,” said Assemblywoman Daucher.  “Being a guest on Capitol Focus was a great way to highlight the bipartisan work of the Legislature.”

Simitian’s 30-minute, monthly-televised show follows the legislative calendar and informs Peninsula and South Bay residents about current events in Sacramento.  Each show covers a range of topics of interest to the community and features a significant special guest.  “Communicating with the folks I represent is a top priority for me,” said Simitian.  “With Capitol Focus I can make sure that what takes place 120 miles away in Sacramento is shared with the people I represent at home.”

“Capitol Focus provides a wonderful opportunity to let my constituents know what’s going on in the Capitol, and in the District, as well as the good work being done by many of my colleagues.”  Simitian promises that the show will be, “timely, candid and always lively.”
