ASSEMBLY SUBCOMMITTEE ON THE REGIONAL IMPACT OF ELECTRICAL DEREGULATION HOLDS PUBLIC HEARING IN SAN JOSE

  • Regulators - California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), Independent Service Operator, California Energy Commission
  • Investor Owned Utilities – Pacific Gas and Electric
  • Non-Regulated Power Producers –Enron and CalPine
  • CPUC –Office of Ratepayer Advocates

What: Informational public hearing on the California energy crisis with expert witnesses.  Opportunity for public comment.

When: Thursday, February 8, 2001, 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors Chambers

Why: This regional hearing will provide an opportunity for Santa Clara and San Mateo County residents to learn more about the recent actions of the Assembly to address the problems brought about by energy deregulation. In addition, members of the Assembly and energy experts will be on hand to hear from and respond to questions from members of the community.
