ASSEMBLYMAN TOM CALDERON FEATURED ON CAPITOL FOCUS

SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today that this month’s guest on his monthly television show Capitol Focus is Assemblyman Tom Calderon, Chair of the Assembly Insurance Committee.  In addition to speaking with Calderon about recent changes with respect to earthquake insurance in California, Simitian discusses pending legislation, how the state budget process works, and some highlights of his current bill package.

“Capitol Focus is an effective way to keep folks on the Peninsula and in the South Bay in touch with Sacramento,” said Assemblyman Tom Calderon.  “Being a guest on Assemblyman Simitian’s show was a great opportunity to bring members of the community up to date on our activities in the Assembly Insurance Committee.”

Simitian’s 30-minute, monthly televised show follows the legislative calendar and informs Peninsula and South Bay residents about current events in Sacramento.  Each show covers a range of topics of interest to the community and features a significant special guest.  “Communicating with the folks I represent is a top priority for me,” said Simitian.  “With Capitol Focus I can make sure that what takes place 120 miles away in Sacramento is shared with the people I represent at home.”

“Capitol Focus provides a wonderful opportunity to let my constituents know what’s going on in the Capitol, and in the District, as well as the good work being done by many of my colleagues.”  Simitian promises that the show will be, “timely, candid and always lively.”
