SACRAMENTO – State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today that he will hold “sidewalk office hours” in Redwood City on July 11th and Menlo Park on July 12th. Simitian invites community members to visit and voice their questions and concerns about state issues.
“During these difficult times, it’s more important than ever for elected officials to listen to the people they represent,” said Simitian. “I want to make sure the folks I represent have an easy way to share their thoughts.”
Simitian holds his sidewalk office hours at local farmers’ markets. All questions are welcome, and no appointment is required.
“These events give the public and me a chance to interact in an informal atmosphere,” Simitian added. “It’s tremendously helpful to hear first-hand what folks have on their minds.”
Simitian will host his sidewalk office hours at the following times and locations:
Saturday, July 11th
10:00 – 11:30 AM
Redwood City Kiwanis Farmers’ Market
Downtown, in the parking lot at Hamilton & Winslow
Sunday, July 12th
10:00 – 11:30 AM
Menlo Park Farmers’ Market
Chestnut St. between Santa Cruz Avenue and Menlo Avenue
