SB 14: 33% Renewable Energy by 2020 (2009)
Summary
Under current law, electric utilities are required to provide 20% of their electricity from renewable resources, such as wind, solar, and geothermal by December 31, 2010. SB 14 would require that 33% of a utility’s electricity come from a renewable energy source by December 31, 2020.
After this bill passed the Legislature, Senator Simitian sent a letter to the Governor urging his signature on this bill.
