SB 434: Traducement (2005)

Summary

SB 434 (2005) would have made it a crime to knowingly and deliberately mislead a law enforcement officer to believe that a person has committed a serious or violent crime, and results in that person being wrongfully charged with a serious or violent crime.

Under current law, it is a misdemeanor to falsely report a crime.  Under this bill, it would have become a felony to “frame” another person for a serious or violent crime.
