SCHWARZENEGGER CHIEF OF STAFF UP NEXT ON CAPITOL FOCUS

SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today that this month’s guest on his television show Capitol Focus is Governor Schwarzenegger’s Chief of Staff, Patricia Clarey. In addition to speaking with Clarey about her role in the new Governor’s administration, Simitian discusses the budget outlook, and the key challenges facing legislators this year.

“I’m looking forward to having Pat Clarey as a guest, “ said Simitian. “She can offer a unique perspective from the center of the new administration. I think people will be interested in knowing how the first weeks and months have gone, and what’s in store in the future,” said Simitian. Clarey has worked in the private sector, most recently as an HMO executive. She also served in the Department of Interior under President Reagan and was former Governor Pete Wilson’s Deputy Chief of Staff.

Simitian’s 30-minute, monthly televised show follows the legislative calendar and informs Peninsula residents about current events in Sacramento. Each show covers a range of topics of interest to the community and features a significant special guest.

“Capitol Focus provides a wonderful opportunity to let my constituents know what’s going on in the Capitol, and in the District, as well as the good work being done by many of my colleagues.” Simitian promises that the show will be, “timely, candid and always lively.”
