SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today that this month’s guest on his television show Capitol Focus is State Senator Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo). In addition to speaking with Speier about her role as a consumer and financial privacy advocate, Simitian discusses mid-year budget cuts, community colleges, and his district’s Woman of the Year: Palo Alto Children’s Theater director, Pat Briggs.
“I’m looking forward to having Senator Speier as a guest, “ said Simitian. “She’s led the drumbeat in protecting consumer privacy and consumer health—which Peninsula residents care very much about. She’s also been a great role model for women throughout the State. I think people will be interested in knowing how she started her career as a public servant,” said Simitian.
Simitian’s 30-minute, monthly televised show follows the legislative calendar and informs Peninsula residents about current events in Sacramento. Each show covers a range of topics of interest to the community and features a significant special guest.
