SIMITIAN TO SPEAK WITH CHILD CARE LEADERS

SACRAMENTO – Assemblyman Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today that he will be speaking at a Child Care Forum on October 24th at 10 AM in the Redwood City Council Chambers.  The event is open to the public and free of charge.

“We need to do a better job for our working families and their youngsters,”  Simitian said.  “Providing high quality, affordable child care is essential in giving parents the resources they need to take care of their families.”  Simitian encourages local residents to “join the discussion and share their thoughts on how we can increase the availability and quality of child care we provide our children.”

The Redwood City and Palo Alto Child Care Coordinators are hosting the forum for child care providers and advocates.  Participants will have the opportunity to learn about recent state level policy and economic impacts related to child care, contribute their experiences as advocates and providers, and talk with Simitian about how state policy can assist the child care industry and profession.
