AB 2297: Online Privacy Statements (2002)

Summary

AB 2297 (2002) would have required that all individuals or entities that operate a Website or online service that collects personal information through the internet from California residents conspicuously post a privacy policy stating what information they collect and the categories of individuals with whom they share the information.

The bill was vetoed by the Governor.
