AB 1231: Arbitration Agreements (2003)

Summary

AB 1231 would have exempted real estate licensees, who are assisting in a dispute resolution between real estate licensees, from arbitration standards set forth by the Judicial Council. The bill would have enabled real estate licensees to follow their own professional dispute resolution guidelines in limited instances when dealing with disputes between real estate professionals, not consumers. The bill would have allowed them to continue practices followed before 2001.
