Senator Simitian and others speak at a press conference on his SB 1582. The bill would require cruise ships embarking from California ports to have a peace officer on board to assist in public safety and environmental law enforcement.

Senator Simitian speaks on his bill, SB 33, on the Senate Floor. SB 33 would outlaw the use of cellular phones and other wireless communication devices by drivers under 18 years of age. (SB 33 subsequently passed the Senate.)
