The Junior League of California, a non-partisan organization with more than 11,000 volunteers throughout the state, has named State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) their "Legislator of the Year." Simitian was honored this week at a luncheon at the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento, where he was singled out for his public policy work on behalf of children and families.
