PRESS CONFERENCE ABOUT SENATE BILL 687 - A MEASURE TO EXPAND THE SCOPE OF INFORMATION DISCLOSED ON SCHOOL ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT CARDS
WHAT:
A coalition comprised of EdVoice, Education Trust-West, Public Advocates Inc., and the Pacific Institute for Community Organization (PICO) California Project will hold a press conference to discuss their support of Senate Bill 687, authored by State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto).
SB 687 requires that districts report average teacher salaries and expenditures for each school site. Currently, this information is simply reported as a district wide average. This measure will help ensure that school officials, parents, and local communities have sufficient information about education resource allocation.
