PALO ALTO – State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today a series of eight Town Hall meetings around the 11th State Senate District to talk with community members about state government issues. He invites residents to bring their questions, comments and concerns.
“Elected officials need to stay in touch with their constituents on a regular basis,” said Simitian. “I want to keep folks up to date with what I’m working on, and even more important, to hear from them. A Town Hall meeting is participatory democracy in its purest form.”
All topics will be open for discussion during the Town Hall, and Simitian anticipates a wide variety of issues to be brought up. “In challenging times like these,” Simitian said, “it’s particularly important to stay in touch.”
Simitian and his staff will be on hand after the Town Halls to meet informally with constituents.
