PALO ALTO – Assemblyman Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) invites residents of the 21st Assembly District to bring their questions, comments and concerns about state government to his Town Hall meeting.
“Elected officials need to stay in touch with their constituents on a regular basis,” said Simitian. “I do my best to keep folks up to date with what I’m working on; and even more important, listen to the people I represent. A Town Hall is participatory democracy in its purest form,” Simitian continued.
Simitian, a veteran of dozens of “Sidewalk Office Hours” since taking office in 2000, said that, “While Sidewalk Office Hours are always popular, I wanted folks to have an opportunity for a more extended, in-depth conversation about state issues.” Simitian will also be on-hand after the Town Hall concludes to meet informally with the community. Light refreshments will be served.
