SIMITIAN TO HOLD TOWN HALL MEETINGS IN CAMPBELL AND WILLOW GLEN

PALO ALTO – State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today that he will hold town hall meetings in Campbell on October 14th and in San Jose’s Willow Glen neighborhood on October 15th to talk with community members about state government issues.  He invites residents to bring their questions, comments, and concerns.

“I want to keep folks up to date with what I’m working on,” said Simitian, “and even more important, to hear from them. A town hall meeting is participatory democracy in its purest form.”

The discussion during the town hall will be “wide open,” said Simitian, who anticipates a wide variety of issues. “The questions at these town halls run the gamut, and that’s a good thing,” Simitian said. “In challenging times like these, it’s particularly important to stay in touch.”

Simitian and his staff will be on hand after the town halls to meet informally with constituents.  Light refreshments will be served.
