SIMITIAN TO HOLD TOWN HALL MEETINGS IN CUPERTINO, REDWOOD CITY, AND PALO ALTO

SACRAMENTO – State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today a series of town hall meetings this month in Cupertino, Redwood City, and Palo Alto to talk with community members about state government issues.  He invites residents to bring their questions, comments, and concerns.

“Elected officials need to stay in touch with their constituents on a regular basis,” said Simitian.  “I want to keep folks up to date with what I’m working on, and even more important, to hear from them. A town hall meeting is participatory democracy in its purest form.”

All topics will be open for discussion during the town hall, and Simitian anticipates a wide variety of issues. “I expect these town halls to run the gamut,” Simitian said. “In challenging times like these, it’s particularly important to stay in touch.”

Simitian and his staff will be on hand after the town halls to meet informally with constituents.  Light refreshments will be served.
