PUC PRESIDENT LORETTA LYNCH IS FEATURED GUEST ON ASSEMBLYMAN JOE SIMITIAN’S CAPITOL FOCUS

SACRAMENTO - Assemblyman Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today that he has completed taping the October show of Capitol Focus.  The featured guest on this month’s show is Loretta Lynch, President of the California Public Utilities Commission.  In addition to speaking with Lynch about the status of California’s energy crisis, Simitian reviews the final weeks of the 2001 legislative session and his plans for work in the District this fall.

“Capitol Focus is a great opportunity to talk about some of the most pressing issues in the State,” commented Lynch.  “Capitol Focus is immensely helpful in informing the public about decisions that affect their daily lives.”

Simitian’s 30-minute monthly television show follows the legislative calendar and informs Peninsula residents about current events in Sacramento.  Each show covers a range of topics of interest to the community and features a significant special guest.  “Communicating with the folks I represent is a top priority for me,” said Simitian.  “And with constituents in 15 different cities spanning two different counties, it’s a challenge.”

“Capitol Focus provides a wonderful opportunity to let my constituents know what’s going on in the Capitol, and in the District, as well as the good work being done by many of my colleagues.”  Simitian promises that the show will be, “timely, candid and always lively.”
