State Sen. Joe Simitian is taking his town hall meetings to the World Wide Web with the Senate’s first-ever live streaming town hall meeting from the state capitol.

The senator from the 11th district, which includes Campbell, is inviting his constituents to participate in the online discussion on May 13 from 7 to 8 p.m. Topics for “E-Upd@te With State Sen. Joe Simitian” may be submitted prior to the meeting through the senator’s website.

Joining Simitian will be Jack O’Connell, state superintendent of public instruction, who will be a guest for the portion of the event dedicated to education questions.

Simitian, who routinely attends the Campbell farmers market for his “sidewalk office hours,” said he prefers to meet with his constituents in a face-to-face discussion, and using an online platform is an interactive way to do that.
