SACRAMENTO – State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto) announced today that he will hold “sidewalk office hours” in Los Altos on July 30th and San Carlos on August 6th. Simitian invites community members to visit and voice their questions and concerns about state issues.
“During these difficult times, it’s more important than ever for elected officials to listen to the people they represent,” said Simitian. “I want to make sure the folks I represent have an easy way to share their thoughts.”
Simitian holds his sidewalk office hours at local farmers’ markets. All questions are welcome, and no appointment is required.
“These events give the public and me a chance to interact in an informal atmosphere,” Simitian added. “It’s tremendously helpful to hear first-hand what folks have on their minds.”
Simitian will host his sidewalk office hours at the following locations and times:
Thursday, July 30th
5:00 - 6:30 PM
Los Altos Farmers’ Market
State Street between First and Third Streets
Thursday, August 6th
5:00 - 6:30 PM
Hot Harvest Nights – San Carlos Farmers’ Market
Downtown, on the 700 block of Laurel Street
