‘There Oughta Be a Law’ contest winners chosen

Four Bay Area residents, including one Redwood City Elementary School Board trustee, won this year’s “There Oughta Be a Law” contest sponsored by state Sen. Joe Simitian, D-Palo Alto.

Simitian holds the contest each year to attract good ideas for laws. This year, he received 250 entries and chose three to introduce as bills during this session of the Senate. The ideas address environmentally safe ways to dispose of prescription drugs, credit card debt and polling places.
