SB 909: School Board Member Compensation (2007)

Summary

The base compensation level for school board members is set in the law.  It has not been increased since 1984.  The Consumer Price Index for the same period of time has increased by 111%.  This bill will increase the base level of compensation for Board Members if the district elects to make the increase.  We value people who are dedicated to public services.  School Board members give up many hours of personal time to serve our communities.  This bill provides recognition for their service.
