SB 225: Small Trucking Companies Leasing (2011)
Summary
Senate Bill 225 helps small trucking businesses access lending to purchase trucks with cleaner engines. The bill would authorize the Treasurer’s Office to include a common form of truck lease in the California Capital Access Program. The Capital Access Program provides incentives to banks for lending to qualified small businesses. With these leases included in the program the transition to cleaner diesel truck engines will accelerate.
After the bill passed the Legislature, Senator Simitian sent a letter to the Governor urging his signature.
